Wanna party like you’re a college kid again?
It was my friend Narhee’s birthday last night and the story of the night was: if anyone asks, we’re all 21. Turning 21, still 21, celebrating our friend’s 21st birthday. Still in college!
Don’t you miss being 21 and irresponsible? Biggest dilemma being some exam the next week that you’d cram for the night before or whether you were going to play beer pong or go out on Friday night?
Clinging to the college days.
Shoot! I’m still young! I can still hang!
I used pre-packaged everything to make some classic college birthday pre-game snacks – brownies and jello shots. But not just any old brownies and jello shots.
Slutty brownies and Watermelon Jello Lime Shooters. If you’re any kind of active on Pinterest, you’ve definitely seen these floating around the internet.

Everyone kept asking me why they were slutty all night, and I don’t really know. That just seems to be the name for them on the internet – kinda like Better-Than-Sex Cake and whatever else weird names are out there for desserts. I guess because they’re super sinful, rich, chocolatey, and just plain wrong. I mean, who created this Frankenstein child of cookie dough, Oreos, and brownie batter?? It’s a genius, sick idea.
I think if I ate more than one, I’d have to immediately be injected with five insulin shots.
Oh hello.
On to the jello shots! I remember three distinct moments of jello shots and birthdays during college and all of them were messy, gross, and had way too much vodka.
Biggest problem with the jello shot is trying to slurp it out of that little Dixie cup and getting it all over your face and it getting sticky nasties everywhere.
These lime jello shooters are AWESOME in that regard. Easy to eat, no mess, and pretty dang cute.
BOTTOMS UP!
After some brownies, some jello shots, dancing, and eating Mexican food at 2 a.m., I think I need to retire my college party days. They’re still fun every once in a while, but it takes too much time to recover from the debauchery.
Happy birthday, Narhee!
Slutty Brownies
from thelondoner
1 Box of cookie mix
1 Box of brownie mix
2-3 eggs
1 pack of Oreos
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking tray with grease proof paper or spray down foil with cooking spray.
Follow the instructions on the cookie mix box & stir furiously until you have gooey cookie dough, I usually add a little extra water and oil to what they suggest, it just keeps it moist as you’ll be baking it for longer than suggested. An extra teaspoon of each is just right.Press the cookie dough into a lined baking tray, until it covers the bottom.
Cover this layer with your Oreos.
Mix up your brownie batter according to the directions on the box. Pour over your Oreos.
Bake for 30 mins.Remove from the oven and leave to cool. When its still a little bit warm, use the paper to lift your creation out of the tray and rest it on a chopping board.
Use a large, sharp knife to cut it into bars. Enjoy the goo. :)
Watermelon Jello Shooters
from thatssomichelle
Serving size – 40 jello shots
10 limes
one box watermelon (or any kind of red color) jello
1 cup vodka
1 cup boiling water
Prepare limes by cutting them in halves and hollowing out the peel. This may sound easier than it is. The trick is to take a paring knife and score around the insides carefully to loosen the citrus. Then spoon it out saving the fruit. (If you have a juicer for every 1 cup of lime juice add 6 cups of water and half a cup of sugar and 3 teaspoons of honey for an awesome limeade).
Boil one cup of water and add it to jello mix in a large bowl, stirring until it dissolves.
Slowly add one cup of vodka and stir.
Pour mixture into a cup with a spout (for an even pour). I use a measuring cup. Line up limes on a cookie sheet so they are secure and upright. Pour in jello mixture. Refrigerated over night.
Carefully halve the limes with a sharp knife.
